Dog Allergies

 Dogs are the most faithful and beloved companions of human beings so most of the people prefer to keep dogs as pets. The pets become a part of the family and are treated just like family members. These affectionate pets and who are just like children in the house suffer from many kinds of ailments just like our own children that are unable to convey their suffering and pain in the same way as small children who are not able to speak. All the living beings which are mammals mostly suffer from the same kind of ailments.

As dogs are also mammals they suffer from allergies in the same way as human beings suffer from allergies but they are not able to express their problems. As all human beings do not suffer from the problem of allergy in the same manner all dogs do not suffer from allergies but there are some breeds or over sensitive dogs that have this problem. It is only recently that people have started realizing about the allergy problems in dogs and have started taking measures to eliminate this problem by finding out the causes and the symptoms and providing proper medications.

Causes of Dog Allergies

It will be quite surprising for all the dog lovers who have dogs as pets at home to know that the causes of dog allergies and nearly the same as the causes of allergies in human beings. Most of the dogs that have the allergic tendency develop this problem from the food that they eat. The allergens which are present in their food adversely react after entering their body and cause the allergic condition. These allergens are in the form of protein, fillers and fibers and less care is taken to prepare the dog food in comparison to the food that is consumed by human beings.

The other causes of dog allergies are dust mites which affect the dogs in the same way as it affects human beings and causes the same type of allergic conditions that are found in human beings. This is the reason that the house should be clean and free of dust so that the pets do not suffer from dust allergy. These allergies make your pets as uncomfortable as they develop the same type of itching and uneasiness as human beings who suffer from these problems. If proper care is not taken and treatment is not provided then it can lead to other major diseases.

Types of Dog Allergies

The most common type of allergy that is found in dogs is the inhalant allergy which is also known as atopic dermatitis which has the same symptoms as hay fever in human beings the only difference being that the dogs do not develop breathing problem but start chewing their foot. The other types of allergies are flea allergy and the different types of allergies caused by food.
